Website Customization: El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation
The El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation (EPCHF) promotes and advocates for the El Paso Children’s Hospital. They wanted a website that would mimic one we designed and developed for UMC Foundation (UMC Foundation). While the sites are similar, they are still very different – offering a view into our website customization capabilities.
The Plan
The planning for both projects began in 2022. Our teams explored various other sites within and outside the industry while cataloguing requirements for each site. The design and functions for UMC Foundation were going to be the template for the future El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation website. At that time, the main differentiator from the UMC Foundation was a color change. From there, we would add customizations that would mostly apply to the EPCHF site.
The Template
Work on the EPCHF site began in the Fall of 2024. With a strong foundation to build from, we duplicated the UMCF website and initiated the reskinning with the new color palette. The EPCHF team began making edits via our proprietary content management system while simultaneously gathering images and video assets. Once the main edits were complete, our teams dove deeper into scaling the existing CMS to meet the needs for this new site.
To accommodate CMN Programs, we added a secondary level to the content management system. In addition, the EPCHF homepage features a News and Events carousel on the homepage. Each news or event links to a corresponding landing page for each featured item. The website navigation was rearranged to accommodate a slightly different target audience.
We program our custom websites to adapt to our client’s needs. This means the site may look different a few months from now as EPCHF’s focus expands and changes. We also track user interactions and optimize the website with the goal of constantly improving its performance. Thanks to the dedication of the El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation team, this website customization project was successfully launched at the beginning of this year!
